  • ahh, you should clean the surface before putting new disc to prevent lacing. you want your breaks to brake even. Second, you shouldn't press piston inside with dirt on it, it will get inside your breaking system, may damage pumps etc. Clean it well, open vent, then push the piston, let dirty fluid get out. Close vent, and put fresh breaking fluid to compensate for the amount that get out.

Trying to find a good condition 4wd for less than $4k. Just thought I'd mention this.. lol Also how many miles on yours? 3.5L or 3.0?

  • Bottoming out is a symptom of worn springs. And like Andrew said bouncing comes from worn shocks. They affect braking, handling, everything really. I just replaced the struts on my Camry and I can barely feel the transmission shift now. Pretty crazy

  • I couldn’t imagine dealing with all of the salt on the roads during the winter, causing all of that rust! From watching these videos, I’m glad I live in western Washington State. The roads out here rarely need to be de-iced and when they do they use a thin layer of brine solution. Maybe that is less corrosive? I think cars last a lot longer out here.

  • It's super interesting how nearly identical my 2001 Pathfinder is to this Montero. Same front brake, wheel bearing setup, i have rear drums, but same thing with the rear springs being totally weak. I replaced them with some new old stock OME overland coils for like 120, now i can trhow my motorcycle on the back of it with a hitch lift and it's good, before it bottomed out on bridge joints.

    J WJ W11 oy oldin
