Using a ford 1520 and Kubota bx25 tractors to pull down a few dead trees around a house.

  • Removing dead trees sounds like fun. Even digging out stumps sounds like fun. I love running mini excavators and I would love to get into that business. Maybe even mulching roadsides for the county. From what I've been hearing it sounds like there's a lot of room four more people in this specialty. And I can see how much fun you have doing it.

I have to really watch mine especially the road, they seem to like to get in the road for some reason. I have had so many of mine run over. Keep old Levi around as long as you can. • Have you ever thought about getting a bigger tractor? We have a 2006 Kubota MX5000 and have never had a problem with it

    Chandler MilsteadChandler Milstead11 oy oldin
    • Chandler Milstead he has much larger machinery, he has at lest one full sized TLB, a few mini excavators, at lest one small/mid excavator, a mid sized skid steer, and some smaller bull dozers. The little ford tractor is among his smallest machines. I think the little Kubota BX23 in this video was the clients, not his, but I maybe wrong. I agree Kubota makes a fine tractor though, I’ve spent a lot of time on a M59, it’s a great work horse.

  • Hello! Do you have any clients with a really old really large tree? I have come across a video of a several ton tree which had to be taken down : August Hunicke removing a Big Black Oak [probably in the Northwest, like Washington state or maybe Oregon]. The job was so huge it is shown in 3 parts. This could possibly help convince a reluctant property owner to take care of a tree which will become a problem in the future. [The work was challenging, dangerous and required 4 or more crew for the entire thing. Plus a crane. Plus a woodchipper helped with disposal of the wood.] An other video includes the recovery of a mistake made by a homeowner who was more ambitious than his capabilities warranted . This also could be a cautionary tale for clients.

  • Watching you work with the smaller equipment certainly spoils me to your Yanmar. It makes the work much faster and easier for you. I suppose there is a place for the smaller equipment if you enjoy using it. The management side of me suggests that hauling to the job sites other than a track skid steer and excavator with a thumb is not a good use of the operators' time.

A local guy to me was killed not log ago with a round haybale rolled back down the loader and crushed him it happens real fast.
